The tree and the muffins
When I first started this gardening exploration it did take me by surprise that winter was a time for citrus fruits. Makes sense really I guess.I am still in mourning for my two lemon trees that I managed to kill off last year, but, all is not lost because my lovely neighbour says 'helps yourselves to the oranges - we don't use them'. Well that called for a double batch of orange and poppy seed muffins. Made with half wholemeal flour they are substantial yet the glaze topping with strands of orange zest (isn't that a great word) makes them a treat. What was fantastic was picking the oranges (never as easy as you'd think) and then taking them to the kitchen a few steps away, then zesting and juicing them. Oh my, the smell in that kitchen was therapy itself. A warm plateful went to the neighbour and clearly Adam and I will be eating the rest. While looking for tasty things to do with the rest of the oranges.
Winter Sunset
Feeling frustrated, even on my days off, not good. We head west, for a beach sunset. How great to be close to a place where you know you'll be treated to a great sunset and a lift for the soul. I think of friends and send a special message to Diane through the mystical sky
We don't make it in the van, so no dinner cooked while watching and listening to the sea, which was plan A, but heh.
My days seems to be going a bit like that. Am I trying to do to much in one day or are the days really moving faster?
We walk and breath and stretch and enjoy the space, sea, sky and sun. We feel better and then head home for a rather delicious dinner. Life is good, though confusing, frustrating and soul searching at the moment.
Adam took some damn cool shots, see them here, Flickr, but I rather liked this one.
Autumn Escape
A little late, but a great couple of days away............
I'd love to work out how to get the music to the slide show, but in the meantime, please, use this link to hear the wonderful Anna Coddington, who, along with Julia Deans played at the Sawmill Cafe on the Friday night.

Testing Times
It appears we are in June and after reaching my 100th post on this blog I seem to have slowed to snail speed. So the beloved iPhone may have to help. Testing a blogging app, not really sure if this will actually help, but it does mean I can lie in bed and blog! Now how to upload a photo.......
